Challenge
Silver Line Auto Works was opening as a brand-new mechanical garage. There is no computer in the workshop, there was no budget for monthly software, and customers speak English, Sinhala or Tamil.
Everything had to work from the owner's and the mechanics' phones, and customers had to be kept informed without installing anything.
Approach
We started from our own POS, which already ran on Supabase with its rules in the database, and rebuilt it phone-first. Totals, document numbers, stock movements and permissions are enforced by Postgres, so they hold whoever is using the app.
Every word a customer sees goes through one translation layer, and bills are rendered by the phone's browser so Sinhala and Tamil print correctly on a thermal printer.
Solution
One installable web app serves the staff app, the public website and the API. Customers book online or by phone, the owner accepts with one tap, and the customer is confirmed by SMS in their own language.
Mechanics move job cards from waiting to ready, and parts come out of stock as they are added. Bills print on an 80 mm printer straight from the phone or go out as an A4 PDF link. Expenses, mechanic pay, partner shares and profit reports sit in the same app.
Automation
Six n8n workflows run the clock: due SMS every minute, reminders and quotation expiry every hour, repeating expenses and unpaid-invoice reminders at 07:00, a monthly report to the owners, a daily health check, and an alert if a nightly encrypted backup goes missing.
Today
The system is live for the garage. Everything shown here is the demo running on sample data; the garage's customer data stays with the garage.
